Water Shutoff/Disconnection Policy (SB 998)
El Toro Water District's Rules and Regulations for Water, Recycled Water and Wastewater Service of the El Toro Water District establish the requirements under which these services are provided to customers in the ETWD service area. California Senate Bill 998 (SB 998), the Water Shutoff Protection Act, establishes requirements and protections related to the discontinuation of residential water service for nonpayment. ETWD's policy and related information are available in the languages provided below.
Annual Residential Water Service Discontinuation Data
Under the Water Shutoff Protection Act urban and community water systems are required to annually report the number of residential water service disconnections for inability to pay on their websites and to the State Water Resources Control Board.
The following represents the number of ETWD residential service connections that had water service discontinued at least once during the reporting year due to inability to pay:
